Thatta district administration determined to take steps to improve standard of education: DC
Deputy Commissioner Thatta, Agha Shahnawaz Babar has said that District Administration is determined to take serious efforts for the promotion and improvement of education standard in the district. In this regard, one boy's and one girl's school having huge number of the students would be selected on the priority basis from each Taluka of the district.
He said the 'selected schools' will be equipped with all facilities and also upgraded in model schools under Social Development Funds so that quality education would also be provided to the students of the district Thatta, he added. This, he said, while presiding over a meeting with the officers of the Education Department and representatives of the Alif-Ailaan organisation at Darbar Hall at Deputy Commissioner Office here on Wednesday. He directed Education officers of the district to identify at least four schools which possess more enrolments from each Taluka and submit its report to him. After that, the District Administration will select two schools among them on the priority basis and all facilities and necessities of a Model School will be provided them by the District Administration, he added.
Deputy Commissioner Thatta further directed officers of the Education department to take serious efforts for the opening of closed schools in the district and to raise the enrolment ratio in the schools of the district. District co-ordinator for Local Support Unit, Ms Hafeeza Naghori briefed informed the meeting that the process of the collection of the data of schools regarding school specific budget is completed and almost data of 1121 schools pertaining School Specific budget has been finalised.
She also informed that the data collection work of 1050 School Management Committees has also been completed and about 90 School Management Committees yet remain, which will be completed within a few days. On this occasion, representative from Alif- Ailaan, Salman Naveed Khan also briefed Deputy Commissioner about their organization's work in education sector in district Thatta. Deputy Commissioner Agha Shahnawaz Babar assured him full co-operation and support from District Administration for the improvement and promotion of education in the district Thatta.
