Idris Elba to play villain in ‘Fast and Furious’ spinoff
Actor Idris Elba has been roped in to play the lead antagonist in an upcoming 'Fast and Furious' spinoff ‘Hobbs and Shaw’, which will be directed by 'Deadpool 2' helmer David Leitch.
Jason Statham and Dwayne Johnson will reprise their roles of criminal mastermind Deckard Shaw and special agent Luke Hobbs respectively. Vin Diesel might also do a small cameo in the movie.
Dwayne Johnson recently confirmed the news of Idris coming on board for the film and said, "He is bad, but I’m dangerous. Welcome my brotha Idris with tattooed and open arms to our Hobbs and Shaw Fast and Furious spin-off movie".
Elba is coming off of roles in other popular franchises such as the Marvel Cinematic Universe where he played Heimdall in the ‘Thor’ movies and ‘Avengers: Infinity War’, and ‘Star Trek Beyond’ where he also played the villain.
