Whether you like deserts, harbours, coasts, mountains or endless ice, there's a satellite image out there that will look good as the background for your computer screen. But don't limit yourself. Such images can also jazz up any smartphone. At least that's what Brazilian Tumblr user Joao Paulo Bernardes thought when he gathered images from Airbus and NASA to compile into his Aerial Wallpapers.
Using a Creative Commons licence that makes them free for private use, Bernardes' pictures are 1,242 x 2,208 pixels, or about the size of a full HD image that would fill an iPhone 6 Plus screen.
If the images don't look right on your smartphone, there's always an editing programme to bring them into shape. Or, if that's too much work, just enjoy viewing the archives.
