Doctors observed a strike across the country on Monday to protest against killings and kidnapping of doctors in Balochistan and Sindh. Leader of Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) Rao Shahid said the strike was observed in all government and private hospitals for two hours to express solidarity with the doctors of Balochistan and Sindh. He said armed gangs and organisations are involved in kidnapping of doctors in Karachi, Quetta and other parts of the country.
"The authorities, both in Sindh and Balochistan, instead of arresting the culprits who have been committing the heinous crime without fear, just issue statements to media," he added. Rao further said number of doctors had been kidnapped and some of them even killed in Balochistan and Sindh, but authorities had not taken the matter seriously.
