The transporters' community of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has agreed on six percent cut in the fares of diesel-run commuters' vehicle of all international provincial and intra-provincial routes in the province. The decision was taken in a meeting convened by Provincial Transport Authority (PTA) and Regional Transport Authorities (RTAs) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the wake of cut in the diesel price by the government.
Besides, Secretary, Provincial Transport Authority (PTA), Hamid Ali Gigiyani, Secretary, Regional Transport Authority (RTA) Peshawar, Niamatullah Khan, Secretary, RTA, Hazara, prominent transporters including Haji Noor Mohammad, Haji Zahir Shah, Almas Khan Khalil, Khan Zaman, Yar Mohammad, Abdul Qayyum (Hazara) and Haji Hilal also attended the meeting.
After negotiations between PTA and RTAs officials, transporters agreed on six percent cut in the fares of diesel-consuming commuter vehicles in the province. They assured full co-operation to PTA and RTAs in their efforts aimed at to pass on the benefits of decline in diesel price to commuters in the province. On this occasion, Haji Hilal, a representative of the transport community of the Southern districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa announced cut in the CNG running transport vehicles voluntarily. Speaking on the occasion, Secretary, PTA, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Hamid Ali Gigiyani said that the authority would leave no stone unturned to pass on the benefits of the fall in the prices of the POL products to the commuters in the province.
