Chairman Senate Defence Committee Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed Tuesday welcomed the appointment of Dr Maleeha Lodhi as Pakistan's Permanent Representative to the United Nations (UN). It was appreciable that talented and experienced professional from outside the Foreign Service was inducted to serve and protect the interests of Pakistan on international level he said talking to Dr Maleeha Lodhi, who called on him here at the Parliament House.
Terming her appointment a great honour for her, Dr Maleeha Lodhi apprised the Senator about her upcoming missions at the UN. She said her agenda was large but her prime focus would be creating a clear line on the Kashmir issue. The UN's 70th anniversary and post-2015 development goals would be the main agendas for the world body this year, she added.
