The Supreme Court on Thursday summoned chief secretaries of Punjab and Sindh over the delay in the implementation of court's verdict on delimitation of constituencies for local bodies (LB) polls. Resuming the hearing of the case, a three-member bench of Chief Justice Nasirul Mulk expressed its dismay over a lacklustre performance of the concerned officials in the matter, asking why the administration is not extending co-operation to the Election Commission to accomplish its task.
During the course of proceedings, the concerned officials submitted a report in pursuance of court's directives; to which the Chief Justice expressed dissatisfaction, saying apparently both the provincial governments are trying to avoid LB polls. Later, the hearing of case was adjourned till February 26.
