Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry's (FPCCI) senior vice president Abdul Rahim Janoo has expressed his serious concern over deteriorating condition of Karachi Water and Sewerage Board's filter plant.
"Filter plant's costly machinery is lying out of order for the last several years because of poor maintenance and the residents of Karachi are being supplied un-filtered water for the last more than 5 years," he said and claimed that although as many as 200 employees are posted at the filter plant, practically only 20 employees are working there in different shifts. He said that although office of KWSB's Director (Administration) is located behind Civic Centre, its senior officers seemed least interested in ensuring attendance of employees at the filter plant.
