US Plains HRW wheat bids steady

Spot cash basis bids for hard red winter wheat were steady on Thursday in quiet trade, merchants said. A lack of country movement combined with no new farmer sales kept cash trade slow, grain merchants said. Protein premiums for railcar wheat to and through Kansas City increased by 5 cents per bushel for wheat supplies with protein levels of 13.2 percent through 13.8 percent, but were unchanged otherwise.
