The Islamabad High Court will hear on Monday a constitutional petition that has urged it to issue directions to the federal government to conduct a fresh population census in the country. A single-member bench of Justice Attar Minallah would hear this petition filed by a resident of Islamabad, Iftikhar Hussain, through his counsel Yasir Mahmood Chaudhry under Article 199 of the constitution.
The petitioner has made Federation through Secretary Ministry of Finance, Chief Statistician Officer Pakistan Bureau of Statistic, Secretary Statistic Division, Election Commission of Pakistan through Chief Election Commissioner and Chairman Council of Common Interest respondents.
