Microsoft's Windows 10 operating system is going to be able to run on older devices and budget models with as little as 512 MB of RAM, Microsoft's Joe Belfiore has announced in a tweet.
However, it's likely that not all the new operating system's functions will work on these smaller devices, Belfiore, the vice president in charge of Microsoft's Operating System Group, said.
Microsoft last month cheered its community of users with an announcement that most users of Windows 7 and 8 could upgrade to Windows 10 for free in the first year after release.
Windows 10 is set to be released for smartphones, tablets and computers later this year. A technical preview of the new operating system was recently released for mid-range to lower-end phones.
