Sindh Bus Owners Association (SBOA) has urged buses owners to ensure proper maintenance and fitness of their vehicles to avert the incident such as occurred on Sunday night, which claimed 12 precious lives at Nooriabad. President SBOA, Mir Afazal Khan said this while addressing a press conference at Hyderabad Press Club on Monday.
"The vehicle did not catch a fire due to exploding CNG cylinder fitted with it rather it occurred because of bursting of tyre which left 12 passengers dead," he said. He said that the owners of buses must follow the rules of traffic, only responsible drivers having valid driving licenses be hired and documents of their vehicles be prepared before taking them on roads.
The condition of roads in the province is worsening after each passing day despite the collection of huge toll tax by the government, he said, adding such condition of roads caused a surge in road accidents in the province. They also appealed to the government and National Highway Authority (NHA) to ensure safety and proper maintenance of roads in the province to avert such accidents due to which a large number of innocent people have lost their lives.
