The Karachi Port handled 198,485 tonnes of cargo comprising 137,152 tonnes of import cargo and 61,333 tonnes of export cargo including 6,517 loaded and empty containers during the last 48 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday. The total import cargo of 137,152 tonnes comprised of 61,297 tonnes of containerised cargo; 157 tonnes of general cargo; 11,515 tonnes of bulk cargo: 7,839 tonnes of DAP; 3,676 tonnes of yellow peas and 64,183 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 61,333 tonnes comprised of 52,111 tonnes of containerised cargo, 217 tonnes of general cargo; 2,205 tonnes of cement and 6,800 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 6,517 containers comprising of 3,908 containers import and 2,609 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday. There were twelve ships namely APL Chicago, Cosco Kobe, Ponente, Sakaka, ER Helgoland, Dong A Iris, AS Ophelia, Oriental Acacia, Neelambari, EL Gurdabia, Pacific Legend and Thorco Ace carrying containers, oil tankers and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were eleven vessels viz. ER Helgoland, Kota Kaya, Ever Result, Hanjin Indigo, MOL Direction, Oriental Acacia, Neelambari, Gulf Mist, BW Zambesi, Charelle and Mandarin Trader carrying containers, oil tankers and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.
There were five ships namely Kota Kaya, MOL Direction, Gulf Mist, Charelle and Grand Baker carrying containers, oil tanker, general cargo and yellow peas respectively sailed out to sea on Monday, while two ships namely Hanjin Indigo and Mandarin Trader carrying containers and general cargo respectively are expected to sail on Tuesday. There are six vessels viz. Pona, Sima Prestige, Future Prosperity, MT Quetta, BW Yangtze and Somerset carrying containers, oil tankers, mogas and cement respectively due to arrive on Monday, while six vessels viz. OOCL Chicago, SSL Gujrat, Commodore, Shalamar, Ru Yi Song and Aurelia carrying containers, oil tanker, iron powder and steel respectively are due to arrive on Tuesday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 91,955 tonnes comprising 69,032 tonnes of import cargo and 22,923 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 1,406 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Monday.
The total import cargo of 69,032 tonnes includes 39,414 tonnes of diesel oil; 7,538 tonnes of rice; 8,488 tonnes of coal; 6,015 tonnes of LPG mix and 987 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 22,923 tonnes includes 22,923 tonnes of containerised cargo.
There were three ships namely CV MSC Anchorage, MV Alam Sayang and MT Black Pearl with containers, coal and LPG sailed out sea on Monday morning, while two ships namely CV Pona and MT Donga Pontus carrying containers and edible oil are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of nine vessels viz. CV Hurst Point, CV MSC Anchorage, MV Alam Sayang, Thor Brave, Coryus, MT Black Pearl, MT Globe Vika, MT Al Salam-II and MT Donga Pontus currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, cement, coal, rice, LPG mix, chemical, diesel oil and edible oil respectively during the last 24 hours. As many as five ships namely Pona, Safmarine Ngami, MSC Eugenia, Diamond Sea and JS Green carrying containers, cement and chemical respectively at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim on Monday.
There were four vessels carrying containers, cement and edible oil respectively took berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Sunday. There are four ships namely CV Pona, CV Safmarine Ngami, CV MSC Eugenia and MV JS Green carrying containers and chemical respectively due to arrive on Monday.
