Equities failed to continue rising trend on the Lahore Stock Exchange on Tuesday and suffered declines amid improved trading turnover due to selling pressure under the lead of oil sector. The LSE-25 index was marginally declined by 8.97 points to close at 6088.55 against 6097.52 of Monday, while transaction volume was increased to 1.334 million shares compared with 692,600 shares traded a day earlier.
The market was opened on a mixed note and stayed range-bound almost throughout the day. Later, ahead of close of trading, the market witnessed a sharp decline due to selling pressure in PSO, Pakistan Oil Fields, Hascol Petroleum, Honda Atlas Cars, SMED Leasing, PIA, Dewan Farooq Motors, Golden Arrow and National Bank.
