A three-member bench of Justice Mian Saqib Nisar Wednesday issued notices to the federation and all the provinces in response to a petition urging the court to direct the concerned authorities to construct Kalabagh Dam. Appearing before the Supreme Court in the matter, Abdul Hafeez Khokhar, pleaded that the construction of Kalabagh Dam will help end the existing power crisis.
Justice Mian Saqib Nisar observed that Lahore High Court (LHC) had already issued a verdict on the construction of the dam; to which Khokhar alleged that present government is injecting money in unnecessary projects and not paying heed to construction of the Kalabagh Dam. Later, the bench adjourned the hearing of case for indefinite period.
