In Punjab Assembly proceeding here on Tuesday 'The Child Restraint (Amendment) Bill-2015' was forwarded to parliamentary committee for deliberations. The Committee would send the bill back to the house in a two month period. At Punjab Assembly premises blind persons agitated for their demands on the second consecutive day. Punjab government deputed their ministers to take them in confidence regarding their issues. Punjab Chief Minister is also holding a meeting regarding their issues during the day.
In Punjab Assembly session legislator Amir Sultan Cheema put up a resolution where he asked government to take measures for supply of clean water to its citizens. The resolution was passed unanimously. A Punjab Assembly legislator in his resolution asked bureaucrats to send their children in public schools. He averred that in this way a good example could be set up. The resolution was passed.
In another resolution, another MPA asked for enhanced penalty for those involved in accidents resulting in death of a person. The resolution was passed by the house. Legislator Waseem Akhtar in his resolution asked government to impose taxes on import of commodities, saying the way local farmer would benefit. Parliamentary Secretary of Mahwish Sultana answering queries on Higher Education in the House stated that they had written for appointment of deans in Lahore College University to Higher Education Department.
She dilated that appointment of deans were being done under clause two of first statute appended with the Schedule of Amendment Act 2012. Parliamentary Secretary stated that examination fees of boards were borne by them rather than government incurring those expenses. Parliamentary Secretary in replying to a query stated that appointment of a librarian was now done under Higher Education Department notification dating 23-02-2013. She said librarians now had a four-tier service structure. Parliamentary Secretary stated that Government College University had 27 position holders during 2012 period. She to a query said that University of Faisalabad was founded under 'The University of Faisalabad Ordinance'.
