Pakistan Taekwondo Team is taking part in first Qatar International Taekwondo Open WTF G1 Official Ranking Tournament being staged at Doha (Qatar) from March 6 to 9. Pakistan Taekwondo Team will be comprised Junaid Riaz (-54 kg senior), Aamir Sohail(-55 kg Junior), Ghulam Murtaza (-63 kg junior), Muhammad Shafiq (-54 kg senior), Muhammad Akif Ali, (-47 kg junior), Saifullah, (-63 kg senior) and Saaim Sikandar Janjua (-61 kg cadet).
Coaches Syed Sadaqat Hussain and Muhammad Sajjad Akbar will also accompany the team. President, Pakistan Taekwondo Federation (PTF) Waseem Ahmed said this championship will be very beneficial for young athletes to gain the exposure at international level as well as preparation of upcoming Asian championship which will be held in the month of April at Chinese Taipei. All the athletes who will perform exceptionally well in this event will be given opportunity to participate in Junior Asian event, he added.
