The recently-promulgated Ordinance to amend procedure for right to vote of the Members National Assembly form Federally Administered Tribal Area (Fata) was challenged in the Supreme Court on Thursday. Shahid Orakzai challenged the Ordinance and urged the court to stay election results of four seats of Senate from Fata till a final decision on the plea.
Orakzai submitted that Ordinance was promulgated while Nawaz Sharif was abroad saying in the absence of Prime Minister the Cabinet cannot approve any proposed amendment in the election laws.
