An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Friday dismissed a petition filed against the black warrants of two death row prisoners. The court rejected the truce between the convicts and their families. The two men were awarded capital punishment on July 7, 1999, and were to be executed on March 5, 2015.
The two convicts, Faisal and Afzal, along with another accomplice, Kashif Khan, had killed a man while committing a robbery in Korangi in 1998. On 2 March, the Sindh High Court (SHC) had suspended the black warrants of the two convicts for five days. On February 23, an ATC had issued the black warrants for both Faisal and Afzal. Khan had died during the trial and the ATC had awarded death punishment to other two men.
