Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Nasir Khan Durrani Wednesday visited Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar where he inquired after the health of injured DSP, SHO and Inspector who got injuries in a police encounter took place with the militants last night at district Swabi. On arrival to the hospital the IGP straight went to the bed of injured DSP Muhammad Fayyaz, SHO Sultan Muhammad and Inspector Imran in surgical ward and Bolton Block.
He inquired after the health of the injured police officials and briefed himself from them about the last night incident. Talking to the injured officials the IGP highly commended their bravery and gallantry act and said "the valour and courage exhibited from police side will go a long way in the annal of history".
The IGP also met with the doctors present on the occasion and briefed himself from the injuries of the admitted police officers and the treatment so far provided to them. The IGP informed the doctors that the injured officials were our national "Heroes" and take special care of them by ensuring all medical facilities to them well in time. Talking to the media, the IGP said that the KP police were the bravest force and capable enough to meet any eventualities. He said one of the SHO despite receiving injuries on head went back to the spot after getting necessary treatment in the hospital and fought bravely against the militants.
Similarly, the DSP, by following the foot prints of his Shaheed father and Shaheed brother in the police force, fought bravely and received injuries which bespoke volume of the professional commitment of this particular family. To a question the IGP informed that due to best strategy of the police, IED's blast had dwindled down to a great extent in the province as compared to last year.
