The landmark agreement is the first between the two countries and will enable the cross border Interconnect between Iran-Pakistan for IPLC transit and buying and selling of capacity and further enable capacities on submarine cable systems in Pakistan and Iran, capacities on domestic cable systems in Pakistan and Iran, capacities on terrestrial cable systems towards Europe& connectivity to Afghanistan via Iran.
While speaking at Capacity Middle East, Junaid Sheikh, GM Enterprise and Global Carrier Business-Wateen Telecom, stated "We welcome this historic arrangement for sharing of traffic between the two countries and putting in place building blocks for a new transit route for connecting Pakistan and Iran to the region and onto Europe. I would also like to thank the organisers of Capacity Middle East for building this fantastic event which has given the regional operators the opportunity to meet their counterparts and make history."-PR
