Talking to the members of business community at the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Prime Minister reportedly said the Karachi operation would be taken to its logical conclusion.
According to him, his government is committed to transforming Karachi into a peaceful city so that investors could utilise the existing excellent infrastructure of the port city. He has pointed out that incidents of kidnappings for ransom, targeted killings and heinous crimes had declined considerably following the operation.
It is highly encouraging to note that the incumbent government appears quite serious towards Karachi situation. The Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif, has been reiterating his resolve towards transforming Karachi into the most ideal destination of investors abroad. And, he has been expressing his seemingly strong commitment towards this city of teeming millions on every ceremony the he attends and at every meeting that he chairs. In other words, the PM has been explaining the criticality of peace in the country's financial and economic hub on a daily basis. His conduct, therefore, has given birth to some legitimate hopes insofar as Karachi's peace is concerned.
