Allah has bestowed the nation and more specifically province of KP with huge water resources. If this abundantly available resource is utilized effectively for power generation, the whole nation would have access to the cheapest form of power and there will be no electricity outages.
The Pakhtunkhwa Energy Development Organization (PEDO) is striving hard to exploit hydro power potential of KP and has already initiated a number of projects by investing directly in them. It is also tapping capital markets for raising funds for hydro power projects and is also facilitating private investors through a one window operation. PEDO is also discussing various incentives for hydro power projects with Regulators to promote growth and investment in the sector.
