Ameer Jamiat Islami Sindh Chapter, Dr Mairaj-ul-Huda Siddiqui has said that the ongoing operation in Karachi should be continued without any discrimination until elimination of all kinds of crimes from the city. He said this while addressing a press conference held in connection with formal launching of a campaign for local government elections here at Hyderabad Press Club on Tuesday.
"It should be held against criminals without any discrimination of caste, sect, religions or political affiliation," he said.
Criticising the Health Festival in Thar, he demanded the provision of medicines or wheat to the Thari people, adding that the process of handing over government-run schools to NGOs in province should be stopped.
The campaign of "Islami Pakistan Khushal Pakistan" would be launched across the Pakistan from April 3 to 15 against the corrupt and feudal system in the country, he said.
In upcoming elections of local bodies, peoples of Sindh would elect the JI rather than anti-people parties, he claimed.
The PPP-led government did not play any role in restoring peace in Karachi, rather it was putting pressure for officials' transfer working honestly for improving law and order there, he said.
Siddiqui said that Army should be deployed during the by-election of NA-246 to ensure a transparent and free election there.
He said that they would not support the PTI candidate contesting election of NA 246 Karachi.
JI local leaders Abdul Waheed Qureshi, Dr Ikhlaq Lodhi and Zaheer-u-Din Shaikh were present on the occasion.
