A delegation of senior officials led by Senior Member of the Sindh Board of Revenue Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui visited the office of the Board of Revenue, Punjab, here on Friday, and requested for land record computerisation for Sindh so that the land mafia could be eliminated from the province.
Punjab Board of Revenue Senior Member Nadeem Ashraf assured his Sindh counterpart of the Punjab government's all out co-operation and provision of technical support at every level for this purpose.
The Punjab Board of Revenue Senior Member briefed the delegation that due to special attention of the Punjab Chief Minister Punjab, the Land Record Management Information System Project was being speedily completed for the provision of transparent and easy services of land record in the province.
He said computerised fards and mutation deeds were being provided to hundreds of thousands of land owners within 30 minutes and 50 minutes, respectively, through land record centres set up in 143 tehsils of the province.
According to an estimate, more than Rs735 million have been deposited in the government exchequer as a result of issuance of 77,601 computerised fards and 24,809 mutation deeds through these centres during last one month.
Ashraf said out of 363 mauzas, land record of 186 mauzas in 20 districts has been computerised, while data of 16 remaining districts has been registered. The Punjab Provincial Disaster Management Authority has been upgraded and its performance has improved as it will forecast any natural calamity in future and relief arrangements could be completed before time. Relief items have been stored to cope with any emergency situation in the province.
