BBM Protected, the extra encryption that comes with BlackBerry's messenger app is now available for iOS and Android devices. The service was previously only available for BlackBerry's own devices. The company says it offers complete end-to-end encryption with three layers of security. The company's standard messenger service only has two layers.
To start a protected chat, one must subscribe to the service. However, anyone can be invited to a protected chat so long as they have the free BBM app.
