Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on Monday severely criticised his detractors after they shouted slogans against his party members for returning to parliament. Talking to media persons outside parliament house, Imran said he still stands by what he has said about the 2013 general election and his return to parliament must not be construed as his weakness.
"I still stand by what I said about rigging in the 2013 general elections and this must be sure that we returned to the house after the judicial commission is formed. The elections were rigged and with the upcoming investigation, a good number of big fish are going to be exposed," he maintained.
The people who were shouting slogans against PTI members, he added, should know that the probe into election fraud is not for PTI as it is a step towards strengthening the teething democracy. "Those who are crying over our return to parliament are the people who are afraid of us [PTI] as we're here to play the role of a vibrant opposition and with the investigation into election rigging their real face will be exposed," he maintained.
The PTI chairman lauded the role of opposition Pakistan People's Party (PPP) leaders welcoming Syed Khurshid Ahmed Shah and Aitzaz Ahsan for PTI members' return to NA. "I'm thankful the way PPP welcomed us; Chaudhay Aitzaz Ahsan delivered a wonderful speech," Imran said and added that after Khurshid Shah took the government to task for shouting slogans against PTI MNAs reminding it that PTI returned to parliament on the request of government, especially finance minister Ishaq Dar's. Imran criticised Khawaja Muhammad Asif, minister for defence and water and power, saying the way he spoke reflects as he speaks the mind of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
"This is quite shameful the way Khawaja Asif spoke out against PTI members and I don't wants to prove by using such indecent language," he said. He demanded the prime minister to tell the truth as what he is going to do about the Yemen crisis.
Khan said that the government must tell everyone what commitments it has made with Saudi Arabia regarding sending Pakistan's troops to the Yemen war. The PTI chairman also severely criticised Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM). Imran reiterated that MQM chief Altaf Hussain is a 'killer' and he has no regret in saying this.
"I said nothing wrong against Altaf, what I said is killer, yes he is a killer, who is behind extortion and the targeted killings in Karachi...I'm going to Karachi after three days and I'll say it all there as this is what he's been doing," he maintained.
