HANOI: Vietnam's trade deficit shrank to $9.84 billion last year, customs administration data showed on Friday, a fall of nearly $2.8 billion, or 22 percent, from 2010.
The deficit in December was $269.7 million, the smallest monthly gap between imports and exports in years, the data showed. The government's statistics office had previously estimated the December trade deficit at $700 million.
