On Monday at Pakistan Mercantile Exchange (PMEX) value traded was PKR 3.56 billion as compared to PKR 1.96 billion reported on Friday, an increase of 81 percent. The number of lots traded also increased by 69 percent to 20,184 from 11,976. PMEX Commodity Index increased by 0.04 percent and closed at 2,624.
Major business was contributed by gold amounting to PKR 1.67 billion, a 135 percent increase when compared to the previous trading day. This was followed by crude oil (PKR 1.5 billion), silver (PKR 373 million) and cotton (PKR 2.3 million).
