KARACHI: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani said on Friday that his government wants to strengthen institutions. He said that the government respects the judiciary and all judicial decisions.
Talking to the media at the convocation of a university in Lahore, he said if every institution functions in its constitutional ambit the clash can be avoided.
The Prime Minister said that it is the job of the opposition to criticise the government and the people should let them fulfill their duty.
What did the opposition do when they were in power, he questioned.
Prime Minister Gilani said that the government will follow the mandate of the people.
He said that the government respects the judiciary and would maintain equilibrium in all institutions.
The Prime Minister said that dictators who were in power failed to end corruption and poverty even after 10 years in government.
