Pakistan People's Party (PPP) MNA Fehmida Mirza finally broke her silence on Tuesday, charging the Sindh chief minister with the responsibility of Badin situation and called the federation to appoint powerful IG and chief secretary in Sindh. Addressing a press conference here, Fehmida Mirza, the wife of ex-home minister Sindh Zulfikar Mirza, said: "Despite a bail being granted to him [her husband], nearly 20 police mobiles and APCs have been surrounding our residence." She added.
"A situation is being made in Badin for validating an operation at the Mirza Farm House there." She urged the Chief Justice of Pakistan to take immediate notice of the situation. The former speaker of National Assembly charged the CM Sindh with the responsibility of entire situation. "Police were ordered to fire despite the court orders," she said, asking the IG Sindh to explain why a heavy contingent of police was deployed outside the Mirza Farm House. Voicing concerns over the security of her husband, Fehmida Mirza said that political interference in police is evident and called for sending officials to Badin who have no involvement in politics.
"Why terrorism cases have been lodged against ex-home minister and workers," she questioned and demanded the federation to appoint a powerful IG and chief secretary in Sindh. People have been forced not to take even food to the Mirza House, she added. Moreover, the ex-Speaker said that the poor people of Badin were their strength, while Zulfikar Mirza has rendered sacrifices for People's Party, adding that she strongly condemns police raids in Badin.
