Directorate General of Training Research of Customs department has asked Karachi Customs Agents Association (KCAA) to nominate 150 clearing agents for training course. According to a letter sent to KCAA, the six working-day mandatory course would be started from May 18 2015 and the association had been asked to nominate the names of its clearing agents for the course.
The Directorate has also advised those clearing agents to apply for course, whose licences would be expired by December 31 2015. Meanwhile, office-bearers of KCAA claimed that the commencement of training course was in response of the association's letter sent to the Directorate on April 30, 2015. The letter requested the Directorate to declare the course for customs agents as mandatory requirement for the renewal of their licences. In order to facilitate the clearing agents, KCAA has established special facilitation desk to enroll the clearing agents for the training course.
