The protest of Sindh Small Industries Corporation (SSIC) has entered 7th day against the non-payments of employees' salaries and pensions. The sit-in has been held outside the Hyderabad Press Club since May 4 where a large number sitting and retired employees participated.
The participants chanted slogans against injustice being meted out to them.
Some of protesters were also observing a token hunger strike against the non-payments of their salaries and pensions.
They said that the sitting employees had not been paid salaries for the last four months while retired employees were deprived of their pensions for the last six months.
Besides, the management of the SSIC was allegedly involved in the misappropriation of services benefits and other funds released for the corporation and its employees, they said.
All accounts of corporation have nil balance because of the issue, they said, adding the employees did not have anything to feed their families because their ration and other items have already been run out.
They demanded the government to help them resolve their issues including immediate release of their salaries and pensions.
