The Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has formally launched the pilot of a 'school improvement programme' to help academically weak partners to improve their academics and start providing quality education to students. Up to 110 needy partner schools from 21 different districts, including Lahore, have been short-listed and offered to join the programme. These schools will have subject specialists performing multifarious duties to help improve the overall quality standards.
Foundation Managing Director Doctor Aneela Salman said in a speech in the launching ceremony of the pilot phase at the Children's Library Complex on Thursday that under this programme, 38 subject specialists would be attached with 110 selected schools, including 18 from Lahore. "These subject specialists will perform as monitor, facilitator and trainer so that the deficient schools could get rid of their weaknesses and improve the overall academic standards."
She said, "Students are our best asset and it's our joint responsibility to work for their betterment in shape of good education which would help them to excel in practical life. This will produce talented leadership to steer the country towards prosperity and development. The provision of quality education is our main focus and different steps have been taken to achieve this goal. The PEF is playing an important role in achieving the objects of 'Parho Punjab, Barho Punjab.'
