Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) is blessed with scenic natural beauty, rugged mountains, terrain that could be lucrative destination for attracting all sorts of tourists from all class and age of people. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Board of Investment and Trade (KP-BoIT) is an endeavour for striving to tape such God-gifted scenic locations. One of such treasury has been identified and conceived in Hund, an area located near bank of Indus River, for setting up tourist Recreation, sport facilities, Theme park in district Swabi.
The land measuring 400 kanals was acquired to develop Theme Park in the district, after conceiving the mega tourism-related project with assistance of Tourism Corporation of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (TCKP). For the project, the Expression of Interests (EoIs) have also submitted by local investors, through Investment Road-Show (IRS), held under auspices of KP-BoIT in Dubai late February this year.
Many world reputed firms/investors, under guidance of expertise, will be turnout to be hub of recreational facility for all travellers of M-I motorway, Peshawar and Islamabad, focused tourists, shall be benefited one of its kind conceived by KP-BoIT, with constant touch with Pakhtunkhwa Highway Authority (PkHA), right to access to the area.
An endeavour to provide recreational facility to local as well foreign tourists, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Board of Investment and Trade (KP-BoIT) in collaboration with department concerned, has succeeded to attract investment for establishment of Theme Park at Hund, district Swabi, said the Board vice chairman Senator Mohsin Aziz. He said the KP-BoIT, as joint venture with Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (TCKP), has gained marvellous progress, to attract investment in the tourism-related projects, particularly Tourist Recreation, Sport Facilities, Theme Park at Hund, which could be one-of most tourists attractive and beautiful village of district Swabi.
The board vice chairman said that the board had conceived the project of Tourist Recreation, Sports, Facilities, Theme Park, at Hund, Swabi, which is located at right bank of Indus River on M-I motorway, about 80 kilometre away from Peshawar and federal capital Islamabad.
Aziz, said the site for the proposed project, identified by KP-BoIT, is one of most tourist attraction spot, because of existence of Gandhara remains in the area, wherein antiques, excavated from the ruins put on display in Hund Museum. According to plan, he said around 400 kanals area, has been identified for investor to develop Theme Park in the district.
He expressed the hope that the resort will not only enhance value to this scenic village, but also provide recreational and entertainment facility to the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and other part of the country. He said the incumbent provincial government is committed to bring economic prosperity in the province through industrial and trade development and delegated that role to the board.
The board vice chairman said the KP-BoIT has made tremendous progress for attracting local as well as foreign investment in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He said the board under one-window operation, is providing all kind of facilitation services, to investors to come and invest in the province. He said the provincial government, under dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Pervez Khattak is taking every possible measure to attract maximum investment in KP.
In this context, Aziz said that foreign investors have shown keen interest to invest in the tourist recreational project, submitted its Expression of Interest (EoIs) through an International Road-show (IRS), successfully organised by KP-BoIT at Dubai in late February this year.
In IRS, he further explained the local and foreign companies have intended to invest $1.2billion in different potential sectors, specifically in tourism, energy and agriculture and livestock, and submitted their proposals and expression of interests (EoIs) in this regard. He added that KP-BoIT had so far received 12 letters of intents through IRS Dubai.
