Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Wednesday said that law enforcement agencies have arrested the mastermind and four other terrorists involved in Safoora Goth incident in Karachi. Interior Minister talking to media persons outside Parliament House said that the law enforcement agencies have arrested the terrorist who hatched and planned the unfortunate incident and his accomplices involved in attack on Ismaili community within four days.
"Those who were arrested by the law enforcement agencies also include those terrorist who used trigger during the attack", he said. He said that terrorists arrested in this connection with the Safoora incident belongs to different terrorist organisations. The terrorist nabbed after the Safoora incident also confessed their involvement in other terrorists incidents occurred recently in Karachi, he said. Commenting on Axact Nisar said that he has already ordered FIA to conduct an inquiry to probe the allegation levelled by American newspaper New York Times regarding its academic degree business. He has constituted a seven members committee including experts of cyber crime, cooperate crime, he said.
"It is very s0ensitive and time consuming task therefore media need not to create hype and not jump to the conclusion," he said. He said that the FIA has so for not arrested a single employee of Axact. Axact has 10 directors and FIA has issued summons to Director Education and asked to appear before the investigation team today (Thursday, he said.
Nisar said that the FIA has also asked Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to provide detail of accounts of Axact and requested Securities & Exchanges Commission of Pakistan (SECP) to inform the team that the IT company was duly registered or not. "The FIA team has taken 42 computers and some other materials which according to forensic experts require one month for forensic analysis," he said. He said that FIA will conduct fair and transparent inquiry of the scam and he would inform nation, senate of Pakistan and National Assembly regarding its conclusion. To a question about security clearness of BOL TV, Interior Minister said that he has cancelled the security clearance of BOL TV. "The management of BOL TV went to the court and got a stay order," he said.
He also rejected allegations levelled by New York Times in its editorial that Pakistan government was aware of the scam. The Minister asked New York Times to show patience and wait for the inquiry to conclude. The Minister said that he had refused the visa of Declan Wash of New York Times but the problems lies with the message he gave not with the person. He said that he did not place anyone's name on ECL. About Dr Imran Farooq Murder case, he said that the law enforcement agencies have made major breakthrough into the MQM leader Imran Farooq murder case and he would soon share it with media.
