The University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) and Korea Rural Community Corporation have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen and develop co-operation in the field of agriculture and rural development. MoU was signed by President of Korea Rural Development Co-operation Sang-Mu Lee and UAF Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan at the Syndicate Room.
It was also decided to cooperate in the development of irrigation and drainage system, mechanisation of agriculture, enhancing the post harvest management and the distribution system. Both sides will also exchange the information about the agriculture and rural development policies, technical and research partnership and exchange of human resource to promote the agriculture sector and foster rural areas development. UAF Professor Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan while talking to the Korean delegation said that Pakistan is an agricultural country and the joint ventures will pave the way to the progress and alleviate the poverty. He said that majority of our people are associated with agricultural sector.
