The K-Electric's (KE's) operation Burq continues, and with the help of Sindh Police, Rangers and the FIA almost 60 different spots were raided on Saturday which included the residence of a highly influential person belonging to a political party, a general hospital and an illegally run RO Filter Plant. According to details released by the power utility, raids were conducted in the areas of DHA, Gadap, Malir, Lyari, Saddar, Uthal, Baldia, Garden, Tipu Sultan, Bahadurabad, Shah Faisal, Clifton and SITE amongst other places.
KE's team along with Rangers raided a residential place belonging to a highly influential person in the area of Korangi. In the area of Hijrat Colony a General Hospital along with a residential complex were raided where discrepancy was found and removed. Arrests were made whereas investigation had started. In the Burns Road area an RO Filter Plant was also raided which was involved in direct electricity theft and an investigation had commenced.
Apart from this, illegal PMTs were removed from the area of Gadap, Malir and Zakria Colony where some influential people had placed illegal PMTs and arrests were made whereas two FIRs were also lodged. In the area of Shah Faisal Colony, a warehouse which was busy in manufacturing geysers was also raided by KE, Sindh Police and Rangers and upon a few arrests investigation had kicked off whereas the manufacturing facility was sealed. Despite the misperception, KE's operation against defaulters and electricity thieves is without any sign of discrimination, and despite hurdles, KE along with the LEAs is busy raiding houses, markets and industries.-PR
