The case of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) worker's killing in Nowshera took a new twist on Monday when the victim's father denied senior ANP leader Mian Iftikhar Hussain's involvement in the murder. The complainant Sher Alam father of deceased Habibullah who was shot dead on the day of Local Bodies election withdraw FIR against Mian Iftikhar Hussain and said that he was pressurised and got emotional at the time of registering FIR in police station.
On Monday when Sher Alam appeared in court of Judicial Magistrate, he informed that Mian Ifitkhar Hussain and his guard were not involved in the killing of his son saying that Mian Iftikhar Hussain is his elder brother and I was emotional at the time of registering FIR when huge gathering of people forced me to register FIR against ANP leader.
Talking to media outside the court, the ANP General Secretary said that it was because of Sher Alam that he was not harmed the day I was attacked for alleged involvement in the killing of the PTI worker." He said that he has no knowledge of the incident that who has opened fire and who were involved in the killing of Habibullah. He said that if the father of deceased has not nominated him then who was involved in nomination against him. He thanked PTI chairman Imran Khan for his appreciation and asked Imran Khan to probe against those people who has implicated him in this murder case.
Later, on the court handed over to the police on a remand for another 24 hours his bail was postponed to another day after Sher Alam take back the FIR against him. After the elections Mian Iftikhar Hussain was arrested for alleged murder of Habibullah's outside ANP campaign office in Pabbi Bazaar where party workers had gathered to celebrate their victory in the local govt elections.
The arrest of ANP leader Mian Iftikhar Hussain was attracted widespread condemnation in all over the country while ANP workers staged protest demonstration against the arrest of party leader. However PTI chairman and CM Khyber Pakhtunkhwa categorically denied any involvement of provincial govt in registering FIR. The CM has directed IGP to deal the case as per merit and as per the law. Mian Ifitkhar out rightly denied his involvement in the killing, and said the bodyguard arrested in the case was not his man. "I can't even think of getting a youngster killed since I'm father of a martyred son... I'm a follower of Bacha Khan's philosophy of non-violence," he said while speaking to reporters in the court premises. "I will try my best to unmask the killers," he said, and urged PTI chief to take notice of provincial government's 'meddling' in the case and 'victimisation' of political opponents. Mian Ifitkhar, who had lost his lone son in a terrorists attack during ANP government at his home town in Pabbi, said whenever the country and nation required his services he would remain at forefront in the fight against terrorism.
