The City District Government has established 18 Ramazan Bazaars in the district for providing essential items on controlled rates during the Holy month of Ramazan. This was stated by District Co-ordination Officer Noorul Amin Mengal while inspecting the arrangements at Ramazan Bazaars of different localities. He checked quality and prices of fruit, vegetables, pulses and other kitchen items and directed the staff to ensure display of price cards on each and every item.
The DCO asked the sanitary staff to remain active throughout the month. He also checked security arrangements and directed to ensure proper traffic management and parking. He said that strict monitoring would be carried out of the Ramazan Bazaars and ministers, secretaries and other higher authorities would also pay inspection visits.
Later, the DCO, while talking to media persons informed that 18 Ramazan Bazaars had been established at Riaz Shahid Chowk near Iqbal Stadium, Millat Road near Star Petroleum & CNG, Sir Syed Town Factory area, Akbar Chowk Gulistan Colony, Faiza-e-Madina Chowk Susan Road, Mahdi Mohalla Mansoorabad, Kaleem Shaheed Pard Narwala raod, ABC Cinema Road, Adda Sadhar main Jhang Road, Fawara Chowk Kashmir Park Peoples Colony No 2, Samnabad main Samundary Road, Sasta Model Bazaar Jhang Road, Masjid Bazaar Jaranwala, Jhumra Road Adda Khurrianwala, Quaid-e-Azam Road Lari adda Tandilianwala, Pul Same Nehr near Rail Bazar Mamukanjan, Gojra Road Rikhsha Stand Samundri and Chiniot Road Jinnah Park Chak Jhumra. Giving details, the DCO said that 1412 fair price shops, 18 stalls by market committee, 18 Green Channels and 62 livestock shops had been set up in these Ramazan Bazaars.
