Security forces said Sunday they have killed 23 terrorists including foreigners in air strikes and ground operations in Khyber Agency and North Waziristan tribal region. According to ISPR, several ammunition dumps and hideouts of the terrorists were also destroyed in the operations. It stated that several foreign militants were also among the terrorists killed in the operations conducted in areas close to the Afghan border.
According to a recent data compiled by Business Recorder from various independent sources, the ongoing military operation Zarb-e-Azb has brought significant decline in the number of terrorist attacks across the country.
It showed a 55 decline in the number of casualties and 18 percent decrease in the number of terrorist attacks during the 12 months of the operation compared to the same period before launching the operation on June 15, 2014. The data showed that 503 civilians including security forces personnel were killed during the last 12 months [June 2014-June 2015] in 96 terror attacks. Whereas, 1126 people including the security forces personnel lost their lives in 117 terrorist attacks across the country during the same period [June 2013-June 2014].
