Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Mineral Development Ziaullah Afridi has said that the provincial government had prepared a comprehensive policy for promotion of investment in mineral sectors. He said that besides the exploration of the new mineral reserves, a metal testing lab of international standard was also being established.
Talking to Australian High Commissioner here on Monday, the provincial minister said that mineral sector of Khyber Pakhtunhwa had vast potential of investment, saying the provincial government would provide full protection and peaceful environment to foreign investors. During the meeting they discussed in details need for strengthening of bilateral relations between countries, investment in mineral sector and other matters of mutual co-operation.
On this occasion, the Australian High Commissioner was briefed on mineral resources, investment opportunities and mineral police of the present provincial government. The provincial minister clarified that the government had adopted best line of action for guaranteeing mineral development and promotion of investment in the sector. He said it had drafted maiden mineral policy of for the province.
He said KP was rich in natural resources, therefore they would not only welcome foreign investors, rather would also provide them peaceful environment. He further clarified that provincial government in that regard had already held Investment Road Show in Dubai while has planned similar road shows in London, US and Italy respectively. Speaking on the occasion, the Australian High Commissioner not only appreciated development friendly steps and mineral policy but also assured full co-operation in the establishment of the laboratory concerned and promotion of investment and rather bilateral relations between both countries will be further strengthen .
