Provincial Home Minister Shuja Khanzada has said that a terrorist attempt by Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan was foiled as security forces in a joint operation in Kala Shah Kaku area killed four TTP terrorists and arrested two others in injured condition. "This operation was conducted on secret information under the national action plan, with the Counter-Terrorism Force and sensitive institutions taking part in the operation," he said.
He told reporters that security men had found suicide jackets, rocket launchers, Kalashnikovs and other weapons. He said that two days ago an accused involved in funding an outlawed organisation was also arrested. "Action against terrorists will continue by the law enforcement agencies under the national action plan till this menace is eliminated," he vowed. "More than 75 terrorists have been arrested in Punjab and their cases have been sent to courts. Among 1,344 elements included in Schedule Four, 716 have been arrested. The national action plan for the elimination of terrorists and sectarian elements is continuing vigorously ... Up to 13,802 seminaries and mosques have been registered in the province and that the government is keeping a vigilant eye on educational institutions and non-governmental organisations in the light of secret information. Action has so far been taken against seven non-government organisations for involvement in illegal activities while the activities of other organisations are strictly monitored," he added.
The minister praised the performance of the Counter-Terrorism Force and the security. Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has also praised the force for foiling the terror attempt "They have foiled the nefarious designs of terrorist elements through their best professional abilities and courage," he added.
