Technical and Vocational Training Authority Chairperson Irfan Qaiser Shaikh has announced that his authority has revised three-year diploma in associate engineering in automobile and diesel technology and auto and farm machinery technology courses.
"These courses have been revised and updated after a special gap analysis study. The purpose to revise these old courses is to train the youth as per international standards and meeting requirements of the industry so that they may easily get jobs after completion of their study period," he told a meeting on Wednesday at the authority's secretariat attended by officers Azhar Iqbal Shad, Hamid Ghani Anjum, Akhtar Abbas Bharwana, Abdul Qayyum and Sarfraz Anwar.
"New subjects Problem in I.C. engines, suspension, steering and brakes and applied thermodynamics subjects in the second year while fuel injection and carburetion, automotive transmission, CAD and automation subject in the third year have been included in the three-year course. Similarly, new subject crop husbandry in the second year while soils fertilisers and earth moving machinery have been incorporated in the three years auto and farm machinery technology course. The revision of both courses have been notified which will be implemented from coming academic session," he added.
He also said apart from introducing the new demand-driven short courses, his authority was also focusing to revise its old curricula and that this exercise was done in consultation with stakeholders and academia experts, especially taking into account the relevant industry through comprehensive survey by using special tool and questionnaire, developed for the purpose.
