Business community has sought the help of Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif to get the issue of withholding tax on bank transactions resolved at the earliest. LCCI Senior Vice President Mian Nauman Kabir said that business community appreciates Chief Minister Punjab for taking up this matter with the Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and hoped that he would take personal interest for early resolution of withholding tax on bank transactions.
Mian Nauman Kabir said that good gesture of Chief Minister Punjab is an ample proof of his commitment with trade and industry. He said that business community would remain obliged if Shahbaz Sharif helps business community on this issue. He said, though government has brought down withholding tax on bank transactions till September but it is not enough, the government would have to withdraw this unjustified tax and use other ways to broaden the tax net.
