UK Parliamentary Committee on Drones in the British Parliament has received a presentation by Dr Talat Farooq recently. It is the first time that any Pakistani has shared his or her original field work in Pakistan on drones. It is reliably learnt here on Wednesday that Dr Talat Farooq recently shared her original field-work in Pakistan with the UK Parliamentary Committee on Drones in the British Parliament.
Prior to this, she gave a comprehensive presentation at the Birmingham University Conference on drones in London on 12 June. Her research focuses on the impact of US drone campaign on traditional conflict resolution mechanisms in FATA. Dr Talat Farooq, who received her doctorate from the University of Leicester, the UK, has been working on Pakistan's case study regarding the political effects of drone strikes at the University of Birmingham. Her forthcoming book, "Pakistan's Strategic Choices in the 1990s", is being published by Routledge, UK.
