Hailing the nuclear deal reached between Iran and six major world powers, industrialists and traders have termed it a `good omen' for the whole world. Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry's (FPCCI) former vice president Gulzar Firoz said that the western powers' nuclear deal with Iran is a very positive step for opening trader avenues with Iran. He hoped that once the sanctions imposed against Iran are lifted, the trade between Pakistan and Iran could grow manifold.
He said that Iran is a potential market for exporting many products such as textile and leather products and similarly Pakistan could import many items directly, instead of importing different items through a third country. He advised business community to visit Iran to explore trade opportunities and asked the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) to arrange visits of Pakistan trade delegations to Iran. Pakistan Businessmen and Intellectuals Forum's (PBIF) president Mian Zahid Hussain also welcomed nuclear deal between Iran and the major world powers.
He said that deal would augur well for the whole world, besides it will have positive impact on the region as well as on Pakistan and Iran's bilateral trade. "The deal has renewed hopes for materialising gas import deal through pipeline project which will reduce the country's energy crisis," he added.
Highlighting importance of dams in achieving energy security, he urged the government to build more and dams in the country. "There are 23,842 dams in China, 9,265 in the USA, 5,102 in India and 3,116 in Japan," he added. He said: "Since differences over construction of dams amounted to digging own grave, the government must address the reservations of small provinces by forging a consensus."
