Rice exports from Vietnam, the world's third-largest exporter of the grain after India and Thailand, are estimated to have eased 3.1 percent in the first seven months of 2015 from a year ago to 3.72 million tonnes, the Agriculture Ministry said on Monday.
Revenue from the grain exports in the January-July period will reach an estimated $1.59 billion, down 8.3 percent from a year ago, the ministry said in a monthly report. Vietnam, could ship 5.91 million tonnes of the grain this year, down 6.5 percent from 2014, the Vietnam Food Association said, below the 6.3 million tonnes forecast by the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation.
