Inspector General Sindh Police G. H. Jamali presided over a meeting at CPO and reviewed progress and performance of police with regard to implementation on National Action Plan. The meeting was attended by Additional IG Special Branch & Karachi, DIGs of Headquarters and Zonal DIGs of Karachi and AIGs of Operations & Logistics. Additional IGs of SB and Karachi briefed the meeting about the police progress regarding implementation of National Action Plan.
It was informed the meeting that fresh exercise was being undertaken to collect comprehensive details about madaris in the province in accordance with the queries highlighted in recently prepared proforma by SB. "The fresh survey is being conducted to ensure availability of an accurate and comprehensive data about registered & unregistered madaris in Sindh along with other relevant information," the meeting told.
IGP directed concerned officials to complete the survey within 15 days positively. Addl. IG SB informed that as soon as the survey process is completed, the obtained details would be shared with the police on operational duties. He further informed that SB was also conducting exercise of Geo Tagging of Madaris and the process is started which would be completed within a month. IGP Sindh directed AIG Logistics to ensure that all required resources to be provided to SB for early completion of Geo Tagging.
IG Sindh emphasised upon strict monitoring of acts of hate speeches, distribution of hate materials and wall chalking and directed to arrest and register cases against all those involved, under relevant laws, pursuing the provisions of NAP.
He also sought the list of activists of proscribed organisations presently on bail and asked to devise a fool proof monitoring mechanism about their present activities. He also reviewed mechanism of monitoring of persons on IVth Schedule and directed the DIGs and SSPs to ensure whatever is required under the laws. The meeting also decided upon ensuring proper documentation of persons in respect of rental accommodations, hotels, guest/rest houses, as per the requirements of the laws, with immediate effect.
