The Pakistan Disabled Cricket Association (PDCA) will be announcing a 15-man squad next week for the Red Cross International Twenty-20 Tournament to be staged at Bangladesh in September. The series, which will be staged in Dhaka, Bangladesh, runs from 2nd to 10th September, featuring four T20s against Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India and Pakistan.
Talking to APP, a PDCA official said they will be announcing a 15-man squad next week at Karachi. "We are fully prepared for the mega event and hopefully will return home with good results," he said.
He said "this tournament is the first of its kind and we are really looking forward to it. This is a great moment for physical disability cricket," he said.
Meanwhile, England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) on Wednesday announced a 15-man Physical Disability squad for the Tournament.
England Physical Disability team will play against Bangladesh on September 2; against India September 3; against Pakistan on September 7 and against Afghanistan on September 8.
ECB's Head of Disability Cricket Ian Martin said "we have a young, talented squad, supported by a multi-disciplinary management team and we are looking forward to testing ourselves against the best physically disabled players from the sub-continent.
"This squad is yet another great example of cricket being a game for everyone," he said.
England Physical Disability Squad includes Iain Nairn (Captain), Callum Flynn (vice captain), Matt Askin, Matt Blamire, Fred Bridges, Jamie Goodwin, Dan Hamm, Alex Hammond, Hugo Hammond (WK), Gordon Laidlaw, Josh Mead, Dan Reynaldo, Drew White, Jordan Williams and Sam Wyles.
